Celeb diet trends

Saturday, September 22, 2012   |
Celeb diet trendsWith a healthy diet and a challenging exercise programme, you're bound to shed that unwanted weight in no time. But which diet programme should you follow? Let's look at a few of the more popular diets from our favourite celebrities.

Kate Middleton – The Dukan Diet

This royal beauty has a truly impressive physique and something she takes seriously. Preparing for her wedding, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton turned to the Dukan Diet to further perfect her already slimmed physique. The creator of this diet, Dr. Pierre Dukan, uses a four-step diet approach that almost anyone can follow; so you can expect to consume high protein foods and follow certain 'phases' of the diet until you reach your goal weight.

Katy Perry – The 5 Factor Diet

This dancing diva has turned to celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak's 4 Factor Diet to keep her in shape. Katy Perry benefits from easy-to-prepare meals that are rich in five key ingredients including protein and fibre. She has managed to maintain her pop-star physique as well as her energy levels to keep her going throughout her hectic schedule of concerts, photo shoots and guest appearances.

Dana Wilkey – Thin Shots

Thin Shots has helped The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dana Wilkey stay away from junk food and slim down her physique. She takes Thin Shots twice daily, which supposedly works with any person's existing diet by suppressing your appetite and increasing your energy levels.

Victoria Beckham – The Five Hands Diet

While pregnant with daughter Harper Seven, Victoria Beckham gained almost 14 kilograms. How did she manage to lose the extra weight? With the Five Hands Diet, which allows the dieter only five handfuls of food per day. This sounds ridiculous to some, and you might feel starved just thinking about it, but it worked like a charm for Mrs. Beckham, who is no stranger to strict diets.

Janet Jackson – Nutrisystem

Pop diva Janet Jackson has relied on Nutrisystem to get her body back into stage-ready shape. The diet has been around for decades but still proves to be popular. It provides dieters with heat-and-eat foods, plus online nutritional and dieting advice. Plans will run you around R2 500 per month.

With so many diet trends and plans to choose from, which one will be perfect for you? The answer is simple: the one that fits in best with your lifestyle and personality. Keep in mind that when you break all these celebrity diets down, you might be shocked to discover that they are all based on the age old basics of losing weight: reduce your calories, eat regular meals, stick to low GI foods and eliminate processed or sugar-loaded items. So get outside and start moving.

I think it's important to remember that it's these ladies' livelihoods to look good and that they have the time and money to do so. Just as a teacher must spend time preparing lessons, they need to prep their bodies! (And faces)

I think diets is not a great idea at all - if you want to loose weight and do it a healthy way, then change your eating habits to a healthier ones.
