Celebs going green

Friday, July 20, 2012   |
Going green in Tinsel Town is not only reserved for eco-friendly cars and organic foods products; this celebrity trend includes a variety of popular eco-friendly beauty and make-up products that can be seen on the faces of our favourite Hollywood starlits.

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock's acting skills are award winning and so are her beauty products. She uses Decléor Aroma Night Regenerating Cream, R450 at selected Woolworths and Truworths stores, before photo shoots and is absolutely in love with this product. Aside from being eco-friendly, this moisturizer is also paraben-free and allows for silky smooth, supple skin that is always camera-ready. The 47-year-old leaves no stone unturned when it comes to maintaining her youthful appearance and eco-friendly skincare products are part of her arsenal.

Julianne Moore

In an effort to promote natural beauty products, Julianne has partnered with Burt's Bees. Wanting to eliminate the fine print that so many so-called 'natural' products require, Julianne Moore helps to raise awareness of this important seal of approval. With her natural, glowing beauty, she is the ideal spokesperson for this campaign.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker is a regular at the New York based John Masters Organics Salon, the city's only clean-air salon where no chemicals are used. This salon is completely organic and even uses wind power. Sarah is a regular and only makes use of Master's award-winning line of natural hair and skincare products. This includes organic cleansers, shampoos, serums, masks and conditioners.

Julia Roberts

Julia is a perfect example of natural beauty, and this may be due to the fact that she lives holistically; her eco-friendly lifestyle includes green beauty products and her favourite brand is undoubtedly Dr. Hauschka. She calls this natural brand 'amazing' and her glowing image speaks for itself.

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham is always ready for the limelight and part of her routine is a regular spray tan. To maintain her image, she uses The Body Shop Mango Body Butter, R125, which contains Community Trade cocoa butter and is ideal for dry skin. With Victoria's fabulous lifestyle, this product definitely fits in with her skincare routine.

Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba is no stranger to the camera and her flawless image is proof of her eco-conscious beauty routine. Not only does she get regular eco-friendly manicures and pedicures with Orly and Spa Ritual polish, but she also recently professed her love for Själ Cela Intuitif Cream, a light, non-greasy moisturizer that leaves her skin feeling silky smooth.

Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett admits that she uses a face mask once a week. This Iron Man 2 beauty relies on Jurlique Purifying Mask when her skin is especially irritated and it contains vitamin E, C, chamomile, oat bran and kaolin to help smooth and calm the skin.

Beauty might only be skin deep, but these stars make sure they look after the skin they have, and help raise awareness so others can follow.
