Paris Hilton has never been known for being subtle. But her lashes at the MTV Movie Awards went a little far, even for her.
I love a good set of falsies – and fully applaud her going for a dramatic look – but you don’t want them to actually look fake. And that goes double for real life. If your photos aren’t going any further than Facebook, get fake lashes right with these tips from make-up artist Charlotte Willer:
1. Never, ever use strip lashes with a dark base. They just look really fake. Strips with a clear base are much more natural looking and just as easy to apply. You can find them at most drugstores.
2. The number-one giveaway of fake lashes is when they peel away from your skin at the outer corners of your eyes. The solution: Don’t use too much glue. Dab a teeny bit on the back of your hand and run the strip through it. Then, once you’ve gotten them in position, hold them down with your fingers for a few seconds.
3. Camouflage the fake lashes by using mascara to blend them in with your real ones. Volumising mascara works best.

Definitely agree… false lashes are not supposed to look false! This look definitely needs some practicing before I decide to step outside.
