Spring always reminds me of eye-popping colours – sun bright yellows, zesty oranges and brilliant grassy greens. I have, though, always reserved colours for my nails and had never dreamed of straying from my trusty nudes on my eyes. That is until
Lancôme introduced me to their
Special Edition Artliners and
Mascaras.
It was the imagery that accompanied the press release that sold it for me though. (Yes, I'm a sucker for a pretty picture.) While the typical marketing speak introduced the colourful Doll Eyes look as 'simple, fun and trendy', I took one look at the smouldering vert chrome (mint green) and can't wait for my next cocktail party!
Lancôme's Liquid Artliners,
R305, are available in three metallic shades of violet vibrant (violet), vert chrome (mint green) and bleu cobalt (electric blue) and can either be layered with eye shadow or worn on their own.
For the technical description, here's what Lancôme says:
'For the first time, über-cult Artliner is reinterpreted in a metallic version. Lancôme thus revisits the 60's doe eye look, redefining it with an ultra-contemporary twist. Eyes are adorned with sequinned shades for an utterly energised and radiant look. Thanks to innovative "Cosmichroma" technology, light is completely reflected across an array of colour pathways. With the same legendary precision, Artliner now creates shimmering, transforming colours with exceptional hold; reminiscent of fusing metal... A true formulation feat empowers three inspiring shades. A brand new glamour trick to try, combined with a metallic Artliner, as a top coat applied to lash tips, for spellbinding magnetism. Guaranteed to create an eye-catching effect!'
And because you can't pull of attention-grabbing eyes without a slick of mascara, apply
Lancôme's Hypnôse Dolls Eyes,
R315.
Available at selected Edgars, Red Square, Stuttafords, Woolworths and Truworths stores.
