With their recent signing of a three-year contract with Africa Fashion International, ghd is set to ensure all the models at South Africa's biggest fashion week have good hair days on the runways.
At last month's
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town (MBFWCT) all the models were styled to perfection, and a few summer/spring hair
trends where revealed.
The Thula Sindi models were all styled in Hollywood waves. Similarly, but with a romantic and messy twist, the Spero Vilotti models looked equally glamorous. ghd share their how-tos with BeautySA…
Thula Sindi – Hollywood Waves
Also used for Craig Port and Ruald Rheeder, a very strong wave, not curls, was the look.
• Use vertical sections around the scalp – sections can be bigger.
• Create a ribbon curl and drag the hair downwards when doing it. To create a ribbon curl, take a vertical section, place your index finger on top, gently turn it 180 degrees, and slide the ghd through the hair in a downward motion.
• Make sure to do each curl on top of each other.
• All the curls have to go in the same direction.
• Gently comb the curls with a wide-tooth comb in an S-shape.
Spero Vilotti – Wild Romance
Spero Vilotti also went for this romantic look, but wanted it slightly wilder.
• Follow the steps above, but after you have done your curls, tip your head upside down.
• When combing, make the style slightly bigger and messy by using your fingers and not a comb.
• Tip your head back upright and secure with
