Just a year after launching his first natural and organic energy drink, Toby Scheckter's done it again. This time he's lightening the energy lift, with
Scheckter's OrganicEnergy Lite.
Like the original, the Lite drink harnesses the power of nature to give a real energy lift while also boosting mental performance, but with the added bonus of using organic agave instead of cane sugar – which means it has a third less calories!
The blend of 100% natural ingredients releases energy over a longer period of time because of the organic agave's low glycemic index, creating a sustained energy lift that avoids the short lift and sudden crash. Made from a blend of organic fruit juices (lemon, pomegranate and elderberry), the other active ingredients include extracts from organic raw green coffee beans and organic guarana.
The team was spoiled with a few cans and here's what we say after slugging down a couple…
'I like the colour, the flavour but I do prefer the original to the light, it tastes a bit too much like artificial flavourants. I found it refreshing and really easy to drink.'
Janie
'A refreshing drink, bursting with flavour. The best thing about drinking Scheckter's OrganicEnergy Lite is knowing it's healthy and organic. Served chilled on ice, it'll give you the instant boost you need to get you through your day.'
Zoe
The former racing driver answered a few of our questions too.
What is the difference between natural and organic?
Natural has very little meaning and no regulation body. Unlike the 'natural' claim, organic certified products are guaranteed to have been grown without chemical herbicides and pesticides and there are never synthetic preservatives or additives.
Which of the two are better and why?
Organic is 100% better! Organic is the only food label to be strictly certified and trusted.
What do consumers need to look out for in stores if they want to live a healthier lifestyle?
I believe that everything in moderation is the way to go and to keep a balanced diet with a variety of organic fruits, vegetables and meats.
How do you keep the price of his energy drink competitive with other energy drinks in the SA market, especially with the production of natural and organic products being so expensive?
Good question. Unlike all energy drinks on the market that spends millions of dollars on marketing their products, at Scheckter's Beverage Ltd, we spend all our money sourcing the best quality organic ingredients, which allows the product to speak for itself.
Scheckter's OrganicEnergy Lite is available at Woolworths, Wellness Warehouse, Kauai, Engen QuickShops, Caltex, Fruit and Veg, Melissa's an Crave nationwide, at R16 for a 250ml can.
