What's in Leigh-Ann's beauty bag

Monday, August 27, 2012   |
In between campaign for animal rights and navigating South Africa through their morning news, 5FM's Leigh-Ann Mol let us take a peek inside her beauty bag. We made the shocking discovery that she can open her own Dermalogica store...

What's keeping you busy right now?

Besides being on air in the mornings on 5FM and administering 5FM's website and social media communities, I have a family of seven – one of whom is my brother's puppy. She can 'redecorate' a room in a record time of one minute, several times a day. Vacuuming up feathers, picking up shredded cardboard, collecting scattered items of underwear and sweeping up pot plant soil have all become part of my daily routine. Do I love her, you ask? Hell, yes!

What's in Leigh-Ann's beauty bag?

What's the one thing you simply can't live without?

I'd have to pick two things, because I can see where this is heading ☺ Pets and Labello.

If we were to turf out your make-up bag, what would we find in there?

Lancôme Teint Miracle (my all-time fav foundation) and foundation brush, L'Oréal True Match Blush, a bunch of L'Oréal and Maybelline eye shadows, L'Oréal Line Stylist liner, L'Oréal Telescopic Mascara, Labello, lipsticks in reds and neutrals, and a pair of Tweezermans.

With regards to skincare, what are your favourite products?

Dermalogica all the way. I've used 'Derm' since I was a teenager and I think I have at least half the range! I alternate between products, depending on seasons and what I think my skin needs. I started using anti-ageing products for the first time this year.
(If you'd like the full list of what I have at the moment, here it is: Precleanse, Special Cleansing Gel, Skin Resurfacing Cleanser, Dermal Clay Cleanser, Daily Microfoliant, Multivitamin Thermafoliant, Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque, Multi-Active Toner, Antioxidant Hydramist, Oil Control Lotion, Active Moist, Skin Hydrating Booster, Multivitamin Power Firm, Power Rich, Age Reversal Eye Complex, Super Rich Repair, Overnight Repair Serum.)

What products do you use on your hair?

Again, I'm brand-loyal (Redken in this case) – and I alternate between products. I use a number of ranges: All Soft; Blonde Glam; Body Full; Clear Moisture; Colour Extend; Extreme; Intra Force; Guts; Forceful & Headset.

Which perfumes do you wear?

Staple favs: Paul Smith Women. Others include Narciso Rodriguez and Jimmy Choo.

What's the best beauty advice you've received or have to give?

A friend recommended 'Milky Foot' – an exfoliating chemical for feet. Sounds harsh but it works beautifully!

And how'd you take care of that bod?

I really need to up my game when it comes to body products. I use various body lotions, but I'm looking for a high quality range I can use. Any suggestions? ☺

What nail polish colours are you rocking at the moment?

I'm into Gelish at the mo'. I change it up every time – nudes, pinks, corals, reds, browns, greys, purples…

What is your favourite go-to handbag? The one you use the most?

A black Italian leather Dissona bag my brother bought me years ago. It's smaller than the rest, so it's easier to keep organised.

Suggestions for taking care of that bod... body butters work well as well as good old-fashion Olive oil. keeps you well moisturised. A bonus is those wonder sponges. its a lovely scrub, removes dead skin, gets circulation going.
