This month Avril Lavigne launched her third fragrance, Wild Rose, a blend of sweet woody notes and sun-kissed yellow fruits, with a radiant floral bouquet.
Although the fragrance might not portray Avril Lavigne’s full personality, the packaging plays the role of the rebel inside her (and possibly inside all of us). The bottle is pink with frosted white accents and a silver ring (which can be removed and worn), engraved with floral barbed wire encircles the neck.
Avril is aware of the influence that she has on others and tries to be as authentic as possible. ‘I know my fans look up to me and that's why I make my songs so personal; it's all about things I've experienced and things I like or hate. I write for myself and hope that my fans like what I have to say.’
She is known for her honesty and her non-conformist attitude and as she revealed on MTV, ‘I have to fight to keep my image really me ... I rejected some gorgeous publicity shots because they just didn't look like me. I won't wear skanky clothes that show my booty, my belly or my boobs.’
And that's why Wild Rose is so her: ‘Wild Rose is about being a free spirit,’ she says.
