Finding the best way to wear your hair and the best cut boils down to your face shape. Celebrity stylist and Beauty SA's
hair expert, David Gilson, shares his tips…
You want: Long hair with layers and volume
Best for: Square and long shape faces
What to ask for: Soft texturized layers to soften your jaw line. If your face is long, ask to add a long, swooping
fringe.
You want: Straight long hair with a sharp fringe
Best for: Triangular face shapes
What to ask for: If you have naturally straight hair you're lucky. If not, ask for a keratin treatment to straighten your strands. Cut a fringe, but make sure to have it personalised and adapted during your consultation. It all depends on your jawline and eyebrow shape.
You want: Pixie cut
Best for: Small delicate features and heart shaped faces
What to ask for: A texturized cut works best, if you feel you need more coverage in the front and your face is long enough, ask for a long swooping fringe.
You want: Short cropped hair or a bob
Best for: Round and oval face shapes
What to ask for: If you have a round face be sure to keep your bob under the jawline with texture or layers. If you have more of an oval shape ask for a sleek, graduated bob.
