Smell like spring

It’s that time of the year – time to spring clean! Whether it’s spring cleaning your mind, body or cupboard, it’s time to do the same with your scents. No one’s saying you need to chuck your warm winter ones away, but put them at the back of your cupboard and bring out some soft, fresh fragrances.

Here are our spring front-shelf favourites:

Smell like spring

Ralph Lauren Big Pony Collection EDT

Why have one fragrance, when you can have four different ones to express every side of you – Sporty, Sensual, Free-Spirited and Stylish. My favourite is Big Pony no.3 Free-Spirited.
The Scent: Floral Green
The Price: R749, 100ml

Thierry Mugler Angel Aqua Chic EDT (Limited Edition)

A limited-edition take on the original, Angel. It envelopes the skin like a fresh, spring day.
The Scent: Oriental Floral
The Price: R675, 50ml (available 3 September 2012)

Chanel Coco Noir EDP

First there was Coco and then came Coco Mademoiselle, and now just in time for spring there’s Coco Noir. A baroque fragrance that tells a story of Gabrielle Chanel and how she embraced and incorporated the dazzle of black and Venice into her life. You may want to savour this one for evening time.
The Scent: Oriental
The Price: R1 520, 100ml

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Cherry Blossom EPV

Inspiration behind this fragrance comes from the Japanese Hanami Cherry Blossom festival – the perfect way to capture this moment by turning it into a fragrance.
The Scent: Floral Citrus
The Price: R295, 100ml (available 3 September 2012)

Smell like spring

Dot Marc Jacobs EDP

Inspired by his love for polka dots, DOT is a chic feminine fragrance with an upbeat spirit. If you don’t like the fragrance, you’ll love the bottle!

Jolie Rose by Azzaro EDT

The new fragrance by Azzaro evokes life, colour, softness and femininity. Combines fruit and blends of flowers to unveil a light-hearted scent, hence the name Jolie Rose.

Elie Saab Le Parfum EDT

If his wedding dresses are anything to go by, then his fragrances are a must-have. Just like the train of a wedding dress, the fragrance radiates a trail when one leaves the room.
The Scent: Floral-Woody.

Viva by Fergie EDP

Live by your own rules. This fragrance brings out the duality of a woman – powerful yet seductive. This is the third fragrance by pop star Fergie, for Avon.
